Now that the mighty Nvidia 9 series is on sale people are already jumping the gun about the 8 series being out of date, but is it? The answer is very simple, NO. Even though the 9 series is based on the newer GPU it doesn’t mean its faster or better by any chance. The 9 series has filled the void that was between the 88GTX and the 8600, 8500, and the 8400’s, which is a gap most people didn’t know needed filling. Although the 9 series is faster than most of the 8000’s its still very much slower than the 8800’s.
