Apple Rates Last In Reliability

After reading the new issue of Consumer Report I found I had a reason to smile. For years i been saying that Apple Computers were way over rated and when it comes to practicality they aren’t really all that good. Well seems someone agrees with me. In this issue they have put together a list of the best and worse computer. Some I agree with and some I don’t. But the best thing to me was seeing this…

After everyone telling me that i was wrong about apple and they are the most dependable computers you can buy, its so nice to see that a major magazine agrees with me. The Apple desktops did rate high however which I think they gave the Apple desktops a little more credit than they deserve but they did make it better after they bashed on the Apple MacBook Air. I also didn’t agree with them rating Dell as high has they did, and I would rather own a Apple any day than a Dell. After working in a shop that works on both PC’s and Apple’s i can say by far the most worked on is a Dell. What do you expect from something so cheap? Apple are worked on a lot to but what makes an Apple being worked on so bad is the price. Most Apple repairs will cost you double and sometimes triple the amount of what it would take to fix the same problem on a PC. I think what killed Apple for me was when they changed to Intel CPU’s.

“I would rather own a Apple any day than a Dell”

At least before when they used the G CPU’s and you paid all that money for a mac you felt as though you was getting something different, That you didn’t settle for a PC you went another way. Now though they use most of the same parts so you pay the money to get a mac and claim all the bragging rights when the hardware is the same has any PC and the OS makes it so you cant have half the software. So why pay the money for an Apple of today that has the same CPU…. thats not an Apple. If you want a real Apple go back to the G5 days and get a Apple when they was Apple and had bragging rights, before they sold out to the very people and companies they make fun of.

haha wow its so true about the mac repairs. i see them all the time. Ha and about the dells, yeah they are the worst hands down, i would rather not have a computer if i had to have a dell.

I just found another survey that said that 90% of Apple iPhone users have another cell phone also. Which proves my point you cant depend on anything Apple alone. Even the article I talk about above said they would never recommend an Apple be the only computer in a household. Things like Apple and Linux are great to have but when it comes to practicality you just got to have a PC around because there is always something that the Apple and Linux wont be able to do.

    Hi Nerd losers,

Don’t you guys have some aliens to kill?
    Some pr0n to D/L?
Some MacSux T-shirts to clean and press?
Time to study for that MSCE, patcher/weenies.

See why Apple computers aren’t any good? they all talk like that :)

They waste all there time making fun of Microsoft and don’t use the time to make their stuff good. Like when Apple released 10.5 all they did was make fun of Vista in their commercials about them being in a hurry to get vista out with so many problems and when 10.5 was released it had problems that was suppose to be fixed years ago but they were back.

And as i stated i do like Apple so why would i need a MacSux t-shirt?

Eric Hamby: 90% of Apple iPhone users have another cell phone also.

I’d need a reference on that one. The article I saw said about 1/3 did–and most of those people carried BlackBerries (ie, work got them the BlackBerry and they spent own money on the iPhone).

Well at least you agreed on apple is last in reliability lol..

Ill get it to you but the main reason i post that is because Apple users think Apple is about to take over Microsoft and im sorry but its not going to happen anytime soon. It is going to take more than selling iPhones and iPods to take over Microsoft. For starters the iPhone didn’t do as well has they thought it would.

I seen the article you are talking about but I found another.

Only about a hundred billion to go!

Actually, the consumer reports site says “Differences of less than 3 points are not meaningful.” So, except for the first two, it’s a statistical wash. It’s a little misleading to leave that out.

The same article gives Apple a 15-20 point lead over the nearest competitor in tech support. So, for almost identical reliability, you get much better tech support. Also, the tech support has been #1 in Consumer Reports for 8 years running.

Apple having good support isnt a very good point to bring up. I would hope Apple has great service for the price you pay. Has I stated above it cost double and sometimes triple the amount to have the same work done to an Apple than a PC. With the fact that it cost so much to have customer support the fact that it rated high doesn’t really matter. When you get into high priced PC’s like Alienware and Voodoo they also have very high rated customer support that rate the same has Apple.

So thats what it all comes down to. If you want a laptop that breaks all the time, but has great customer support that you pay twice has much for…. get an Apple.

Apple doesn’t impress me enough to really care. The MAC OS is okay, but if I want a laptop (I don’t) I’d probobly go for something else like asus. I’m not by any means a fanboy to any particular brand, but I’m tired of my friends I know who know I know computers coming to me with problems with their MACbooks -_-

Its the same way if you work at a place that works on Apple. You get all the apple owners getting mad at you because they was told apple “wouldn’t” never tear up and they were better than a PC. Then when you tell them the price to fix it they go through the roof. Apple people are also some of the most whinny people to ever buy a computer. They have been told time and time again that Apple is better and then when its not all they do is complain. I like the customers thought that know that it dont cost any more to fix a Apple than a PC but because its an Apple they get charged 3 times more. If you know that your going to get charged more then why buy an Apple… They will break… alot.

  12. MyAvatars 0.2 David Says:

Most Apple users will never admit this is true.

I have had 3 Apple laptops in the last few years. 2 MacBook pro’s and a MacBook Air. After 2 years of fighting with them to work i decided to go with a PC and have been far happier. The PC is a lot faster and to me a lot more stable. The OS isn’t as pretty but i don’t care i just want it to work and it does very nicely. I can say has of this moment i will never look at an Apple again. I think Apple has a place in the world maybe selling iPods but they need to leave the laptop business alone.
